Can I Clinch It? Well, I’m Gone: A Week 15 of Playoff Implications

This week, three teams can clinch playoff berths if they can come out on top of their respective divisional showdown, and there is a crazy scenario that would give the Broncos a guaranteed first round bye.  Denver, Indianapolis, and New England are all asking “Can I clinch it?  Can I clinch it?

Thursday

Arizona Cardinals (10-3) at St. Louis Rams (5-7)

Predicted: 17-13 Cardinals

Sunday

Houston Texans (7-6) at Indianapolis Colts (9-4) – Pulse 120’s Non-Primetime Game of the Week

Arian FosterPlayoff hopes are still alive for the Houston Texans, but a loss here in Indianapolis would all but eliminate them.  Ryan Fitzpatrick backed up his 6-passing-touchdown game with a goose egg the next week, but he ran for a score as the Houston ground game pounded away at Jacksonville. Arian Foster is healthy.  He has shown us that he is a real force when healthy, and teams have shown us that a way to beat the Colts is on the ground.  Can Arian Foster, DeAndre Hopkins, and J.J. Watt take it to the Colts to keep their playoff hopes alive?  Or can Andrew Luck seal yet another playoff berth for his team, something he has done every season he’s played?  The Colts have been blazing some teams lately, but they showed some mortality last week against Cleveland.

If the Texans can somehow squeeze into the playoffs, might we see J.J. Watt steal the MVP award from Aaron Rodgers?  Perhaps…

Prediction: 27-21 Texans

Green Bay Packers (10-3) at Buffalo Bills (7-6)

Prediction: 27-17 Packers

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-11) at Baltimore Ravens (8-5)

Prediction: 28-10 Ravens

LaGarrette BlountCincinnati Bengals (8-4-1) at Cleveland Browns (7-6)

Prediction: 24-17 Bengals

Miami Dolphins (7-6) at New England Patriots (10-3)

The outstanding Miami defense has been less than stellar over the last few weeks, and it got shelled by the Ravens last week.  With the way the team has played on both sides of the ball lately, it’s hard to see it traveling to Foxborough and taking down the Patriots, even if people are less (or more?) scared of Gronk because of how much he loves to snuggle.

Prediction: 24-17 Patriots

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-11) at Carolina Panthers (4-8-1)

Prediction: 20-13 Panthers

Oakland Raiders (2-11) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-6)

Prediction: 24-13 Chiefs

Washington Redskins (3-10) at New York Giants (4-9)

Prediction: 27-17 Giants

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Denver BroncosDenver Broncos (10-3) at San Diego Chargers (8-5)

Peyton Manning has thrown eight interceptions over his last six games, and last week, he failed to throw a touchdown pass, ending his streak at 51 games.  After being criticized for having no rushing offense and relying too much on Peyton, the Broncos have showed a huge commitment to the run game in recent weeks.  C.J. Anderson has run for 393 yards and four touchdowns in the last three games, and now people are talking about how Peyton is losing a step and the team isn’t passing enough.  What do you think happens this week?

Still, Philip Rivers and the Chargers are not jokers.  This should be a great game.

Prediction: 31-27 Broncos

Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5) at Atlanta Falcons (5-8) – Pulse 120’s Week 15 Upset Special

Prediction: 28-24 Falcons

4:00 PM

New York Jets (2-11) at Tennessee Titans (2-11)

Prediction: 17-10 Jets

Minnesota Vikings (6-7) at Detroit Lions (9-4)

Prediction: 24-13 Lions

San Francisco 49ers (7-6) at Seattle Seahawks (9-4)

Prediction: 31-10 Seahawks

8:30 PM

Dallas Cowboys (9-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (9-4)

Prediction: 31-28 Eagles

Monday Night Football

New Orleans Saints (5-8) at Chicago Bears (5-8)

Prediction: 35-31 Bears
