About Pulse 120

A couple years removed from finishing college and getting a music degree, I find myself working three jobs and still having more free time than I ever even dreamed of while in school.  So what do I do with it?  No matter how productive I aspire to be in my spare time,  I always find myself back on the couch watching whatever match up of teams of physical freaks is playing whatever organized ball game.  I’m starting to realize that there is no use trying to shake or hinder my addiction to watching and reading about sports.  The same goes for fantasy sports.  You know that saying, “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em?”  I figure, why not make some sort of productive use out of the troves of useless NFL, NBA, and MLB knowledge and opinions I have and start trying to write entertaining things about them?  It’ll be fun for me to write, it will (hopefully) be fun for you to read, and maybe some day, somebody important will look at it (hi mom!).

Here’s my twist: As I journey down this road of internet sports blogging, I’ll be bringing along a passion for music with me in the passenger seat.  You’ll be treated to my soundtracks for various players, teams, match ups, and situations.  This should make the trip more enjoyable for all, and it will make you want to roll down the window and enjoy the ride.  Or you’ll hate it.  Not everybody likes traveling.  Extended metaphors are fun.

Lastly, a few disclaimers:

1. This blog will be influenced by and filled with my experiences and thoughts.  If I did not have strong opinions, I would not be wasting my time writing them down.  I apologize in advance for not apologizing when I offend you or your favorite team.

2. I may once in a while write something fantasy sports related.  If you lose because you listen to what I say, don’t blame me.  Ultimately, it’s your fault for needing help in the first place.

3. On that note, I’m allowed to be wrong.  The weatherman is constantly wrong, but you keep going back to him.  Why should I be any different?

4. No team is safe.  As a devoted fan of two Washington sports teams, I know what it is like to have my optimism constantly capped, even when it involves my favorites.
